Netflix’s Virgin River has found its newest heartthrob.

Mitchell Slaggert has officially joined Season 8 of the hit romantic drama as Eddie, a recurring character described as a charismatic EMT with a laidback personality and a passion for life.

Production on the new season recently began in Vancouver, signaling the next chapter for the long-running series after Season 7’s emotional cliffhangers.

While Netflix has not revealed exactly how Eddie enters the story, his profession naturally places him close to key characters including Mel, Doc, Kaia, and Brady. Fans are especially curious whether Eddie’s arrival could affect Brady’s recovery after the motorcycle accident teased in the finale.

Romance also appears inevitable. The series description hints that Eddie will explore everything Virgin River has to offer — which almost certainly includes complicated emotional relationships.

Slaggert is best known for his work on The Sex Lives of College Girls and Taylor Sheridan’s Landman.

With Season 8 now filming, the show continues building toward another emotional and relationship-driven chapter.
